My 14 year old dog is suspected of having cancer in the left caudal nasopharynx (adenocarcinoma). Has anyone had experience with the various cancer treatment centers in or around New York City? AMC, ASPCA, NYC Veterinary specialists, or others?

Unfortunately, I know something about this. When my dog was diagnosed with lymphoma, my vet sent us to the Animal Medical Center - not only for the hospital itself, but to see Dr. Phillip Bergman, the head of the oncology department. I liked him very much. He was warm, compassionate, and always had time for me. He recommended a protocol which give me almost 2 more years with my Ziggy when I was told to not expect him to live more than 1 year. I haven't been in touch with him for more than a year, so I don't know if he is still there.
I have also had experience with the Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists - not the oncology department though. It's a very modern facility on East 15th Street. I was very impressed with them and the treatment my cat received. Best of luck. |
