9 yr old SF Basset Hound diagnosis - Malignant Trichoepithelioma with Lymphastic Invasion

My 9 yr old spayed female Basset Hound received a diagnosis this week of Malignant Trichoepithelioma with Lymphastic Invasion. I am not having much luck finding indepth information on this form of cancer, except that it is rare and that there is no known treatment for it. Please contact me if you have any additional information. It's greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, my friends 10yr.old German Shepherd has a quarter size lump on the side of her face. It's above and is pinkish in color. After a needle aspiration the vet said it wasn't (probably wasn't) malignent. She recommended a removal. She's worried about putting her under gen anes.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.......

Inconclusive Biopsy or Botched biopsy

A nasal CT revealed a regionally extensive mass with the left caudal nasopharynx. The vet then did an endoscopy to grab a sample. The biopsy results showed no cancer however the vet still suspects it is cancer and explains, they were only able to get the edge of the mass, which is most likely just inflamed tissue surrounding a cancer mass. After putting my elderly dog through this (and spending $3200) I am wondering why they did not shift the plan (after seeing location of mass on CT) and...

I just found this website and message board. Our 11 year old weimeraner has bladder cancer. I read that surgery is not recommended because it can spread the cancer, but also heard of lazer surgery which is minimally invasive. Right now, we are dealing with treating gastroenteritis which she had last winter as well. We are of course devastated and want to do what is best for our dog. Our almost 7 year old husky was diagnosed with lymophma about a month ago.

We were informed today that the Madison-Wisconsin Short has failed. We are looking for a rescue protocol. Any recommendations are welcome.

Our main symptoms are slightly enlarged nodes in the neck and shoulder and a very low platelet count (originally 3000 at diagnosis)

oral malignant melanoma in std poodle

Hi,

I just found my 9 year old standard poodle has a malignant melanoma on her lower jaw. It was discovered during a routine dental cleaning and at that time, a biopsy was taken. My vet referred me to an oncologist, but before my consult, I want to gather some info and get myself educated. Has anyone experienced this with their dog? What treatment options are there and what did you choose?

Hello, My dog Max was diagnosed with this terrible cancer. He got sick around Dec 23 and stayed that way for a few days. He suddenly got better and got sick again last Tuesday. The vet stated he had a lot of blood in his mid section. She scraped some tissue but did not find a tumor. She stated that all organs looked okay except for some tissue that looked suspicious. She sent that tissue into a lab and their results were Hemangiosarcoma with hemorrage. Poor prognoses. Max is doing okay now...
